Photography
My journey back into visual creativity, following a long middle period of my life working in information technology, began with photography. During a decade of activism in the field of human rights, I had spent much time viewing and categorising images and videos of atrocities, so in my photography I felt the need to immersive myself in the beautiful, to restore my mind. This is a small selection of some of my images captured from 2020 - 2022. My pony range of images I printed onto wood and also household items such as aprons, cushions, bags and greeting cards, which I sold at craft fairs and in a local farm shop, in addition to framed prints of the Devon countryside. I often return to my directory of images as reference material for paintings and sketches as well as workshops. Photography continues to be a part of my practice today, especially for research.
